  • HI All,

I am a begineer in SQL 2008 Reporting services...

I have my reporting services running on my local host and i am fetching data from some remote server.

I have successfully create data source and retreive required information from dataaset.

When i test my report it is working fine.

but now when i am trying to deploy this report, i get following error message, i dont understand , where i am making a mistake

can you please help me out...

  • well i get it resolve , it was a problem with my ISA server and port address.

i just bypass ISA server and get back with port 80.

    it is fine.

  • Has IIS been configured and is it running?

  • No there is no IIS installed.

i am working on SQL server 2008 reporting services. i dont think we need IIS ?

IIS is necessary for reporting services ?

  • IIS is needed on the server where the reports will be hosted.

that web page with the report listing, runs on IIS.

  • You need to create the shared datasource on the SSRS.

    Open your http://hostname/reports page

browse to Datasources, and create it there.

Then upload your report (RDL) file, open it and point it to the shared datasource that you created.
