HI All,
I am a begineer in SQL 2008 Reporting services...
I have my reporting services running on my local host and i am fetching data from some remote server.
I have successfully create data source and retreive required information from dataaset.
When i test my report it is working fine.
but now when i am trying to deploy this report, i get following error message, i dont understand , where i am making a mistake
can you please help me out...

well i get it resolve , it was a problem with my ISA server and port address.
i just bypass ISA server and get back with port 80.
it is fine.

Has IIS been configured and is it running?

No there is no IIS installed.
i am working on SQL server 2008 reporting services. i dont think we need IIS ?
IIS is necessary for reporting services ?

IIS is needed on the server where the reports will be hosted.
that web page with the report listing, runs on IIS.

You need to create the shared datasource on the SSRS.
Open your http://hostname/reports page
browse to Datasources, and create it there.
Then upload your report (RDL) file, open it and point it to the shared datasource that you created.
