Replication SQL 7.0 and changing licensemode!
We had a functioning replication with SQL-Server 7.0 SP2 and some MSDE-Clients
until one of our sysadmins changed the licensemode of SQL-Server from 'per seat' to 'per server' mode. After changing the mode the replication wasn't functioning anymore. So we tried to change the licensemode back to 'per seat', but still the replication does not work.
Is there any way to get it back working, or do I have to uninstall the SQL-Server and delete all licenses, and start the replication from the scratch?
Please, help.

We run in per server (I think!, will check) and replication runs fine, but either way it should work. How exactly is it failing? What errors do you get, either in SQL or the event log?

No, MSDE 1.0 (SQL 7) subscribers will not work with publishers that are licensed in per server mode. It's just a licensing thing that they put in there to make you "pay" for using MSDE for replication.
As far as getting it to work again, I don't know - never tried. But I do recall running across some info about it on Microsoft's site. Try doing a search there for "MSDE replication licensing".

Hi Andy,
the replication fails with the message, that I should change the license mode to 'per-seat'?!?
Thanks,
Thorsten
