Replication: publisher delete data on subscriptor

  • Hi,

I had a sqlserver 2008 replication server working fine with sql server 2005 express.

I had a problem on server and I had to to format the operating system (w2k3). While I was having the problem, I still working on sql 2005 data. After I reinstall the server, the replication didn't work so I removed the publication and created it again and removed the subscription and created again. The server synchronized but all the work made on 2005 after the problem was deleted... Why that? It's possible to recover these work without backup?

    Thanks

  • Which instance is your subscriber? 2005/2008?

If you have had to sync the subscriber environment with your publisher and your the work you have done is on the subscriber then its gone forever unless you are backing up the subscriber database. If you have a backup then restore it to a spare environment.

Your work should still be there if it was on the publisher.

    >Which instance is your subscriber? 2005/2008?

2005 is the subscriber the 2008 is the publisher

    >If you have had to sync the subscriber environment with your publisher and your the work you have done is on the subscriber

    is my case

    >then its gone forever unless you are backing up the subscriber database.

oh no 🙁 this is very bad news 🙁

    >If you have a backup then restore it to a spare environment.

there would be no way to merge the data?

    >Your work should still be there if it was on the publisher.

not my case... 🙁 All the data on publisher is ok...
