Greetings!
I was wondering if you guys knew the minimum Hardware/Software required to run Replication on a client (PC) for SQL 2005.
Thanks!

If the PC is going to be a replication subscriber it does not require much more than the normal spec for running the database. If it is going to be a publisher it depends on how many subscribers there are going to be. Best way to tell is to try it out.

Agree with that answer. Replication load is based on usage, typically you'll feel the pain on disk performance first, network usually not an issue unless running a really slow WAN connection. Especially if you're new to replication, grab a days worth of perfmon data, then publish a couple tables and see what you get for differences. That way if you've immediately overloaded you can drop the subscription while you look at causes and options.

over the weekend we set up an older server we had as a distributor. Dual P3 1.4GHz and 1GB RAM. We are buying more RAM for it and for some reason the CPU is pegged out close to 100% most of the time.
we have around 60 publications running to it from 2 publishers and 8 subscribers. total snapshots is around 45GB of data.
we even had to open a case with Microsoft because of some problems we had.

More RAM is a good place to start, 1G isnt as much as it used to be!
Most of the the work on a distributor is disk io, what do you have for drives?
