  Our production server is about 90GB we have plan to create a redundant server at remote site (which will be read only). Also we modify procedures, triggers and tables once a month as an enhancement and bug fix.

  1-Can I use log shipping or transactional replication is only choice.

  2- Can I backup and restore at remote site then establishes the replication.

  If you use log shipping it doesn't matter what you change ( add tables, add filegroups etc....) as long as Both systems have the same drive topology.

  Tested it and works flawlessly....
