Distributor- 2012 standard edition
publisher/subscriber -2008 and 2012 enterprise editions
Can we setup replication with the above configuration ?

no, you can only replicate to Enterprise \ Enterprise.

Uh, this is completely untrue.
The distributor cannot be an earlier version than the publisher, but that's about it.
Currently I have a SQL 2008 R2 STANDARD publisher and distributor with SQL 2005 ENTERPRISE subscribers, as well as an Oracle 11g subscription.
In testing, we are replicating from a SQL 2012 Enterprise to SQL 2005 Standard and SQL 2008 Standard.

There are data type restrictions as well but this is generally correct.
