Repl Monitor Disconnecting

  • Help! We've got a 2005 sp2 distributor that has 3 2000 sp4 publishers. The 2000 publishers are on 3 completely separate servers. Our SAN guys did a big maintenance project last night and all servers were down for about 5 hours. When we brought everything back up I find that when I open replication monitor, our biggest publisher keeps disconnecting from replication monitor. (The other publishers seem fine.)

I am able to stay in it for about 5 seconds and then it just disconnects and leaves a little red x by the server symbol. During those 5 seconds I have been able to check and see that everything looks pretty much okay except for 2 small publications that need to be initialized. Btw, the SS error logs look clean except that they are saying that those two pubs need to be reinitialized.

Why is this disconnecting itself? Any ideas? This is killing me as I need

to check on replication and make sure it is working.

  • Hi,

In replication monitor right click on publisher server and click on publisher settings and increase the refresh rate from default of 5 seconds to 60 and check it out.

    Thanks

Thx - I think that worked...

  • Actually, this only helped a little. It still disconnects quite often. If anybody has any ideas, I'd appreciate it...
