  SQL Server 7.0

  So I renamed the box, reboot and get the scary statement telling me to reinstall. I reinstall, run sp_dropserver, sp_addserver. Everything is fine.

  database looks great.

  The @@Version shows SP3.

  Question - Should I reinstall sp3 anyway? What went on behind the scenes.

  I think all the dll's which got installed during sp3 installation are still existing.If you want to reinstall there is no harm.

  Shouldn't hurt to reinstall SP3 and might help.
