Rename the instance of the SQL Server?

    can we rename the SQL Server instance without uninstall the SQL Server?

    if Yes!! who to do?

    I dont think you can rename the instance without uninstalling it. !!

    No, you can rename the windows server (through Windows) but not the instance name.
