I have inherited 2 (interface) servers that use SQL Server connectivity and tools only - no DBs. They were upgraded from SQL 7 to 2000, but now both servers have both versions. I have been asked to remove the SQL 7 files.
Is it possible to just remove SQL 7 without affecting SQL 2000?
Can this be done from the Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs?
Do I have to uninstall both and re-install 2000?
I would prefer a method where I do not have to hack the registry.
This is at a hospital, so users are always in the system - so I need to have as little downtime as possible? Any suggestions?
Thanx in advance for your help.

You should be fine by removing the 7.0 version from control panel but it is always to be good if you could test it.
