Remove UNDERLINE from Hyperlink

  • I have 6 report hyperlinks defined in a Report... I recently italicized a couple of words in 2 of the 6 hyperlinks and all of a sudden, the UNDERLINE is appearing on those 2 hyperlinks (which I prefer NOT to have)

I looked at the underlying HTML CODE and cannot find anything obvious to remove the UNDERLINES on these links.. Any suggestions are appreciated.

  • Frankly, if a report item is supposed to be a hyperlink, why would you feel the need to italicize any portion of that link?   I simply cannot imagine that being all that important.  Second, what's so wrong with having your hyperlink underlined?   Assuming that you still want it to keep it from being underlined, that may need to be a browser controlled option, as I'm not sure there's any way in SSRS to stop that from happening.

Open the report in design view, select the text or placeholder for whatever you used for the url, right click and select properties. Go to font. Change the effects - that's where you set the underline property.

thanks Sue.. following your detailed instructions, on the 'Text properties', 'Font' screen -- I found the UNDERLINE or NONE option when I clicked on the 'EFFECTS' drop-down box ('EFFECTS' include: Default, None, Underline, Overline and Strikethrough.   Again - thank you for your FIX here!
