I have a 4 processor sql server EE server. We are going to downgrade this server to a two-way be removing two of the processors. Will sql server have any problems recognizing this change in hardware?

Hi,
It will effect ur sql server if it is running on the processor u are removing.
U have to check on which processor it is running . Right click on sql server registration properties and select processor and check on which processor it is running.
If it is not running on the processor u want to remove then u have to check on whicg processor ur OS is running.
Then remove the processor.

I do not believe that you will suffer any 'ill' affects other than possibly performance since you are removing 2 CPUs. The only other possiblility of an issue I see that could occur is if you are using the 'affinity mask' for processor utilization. If you are not, then it should not be an issue.
