Have you tried using the Machine\InstanceName (if Named Instance) or only the ServerName..

you need to stop/start the instance to activate TCP\IP.
So first enable the setting in config manager, then stop and start the sqlinstance.

Can you provide version info regarding the sqlserver you are trying to connect to ?
- Sql2005 / 2008 ?
- Editon ?
- build no ?
- Can you ping the servername (without instance name !) ?
If it is a named instance, is SQLBrowser service running ?
( or are you using the correct port no)

The screen shot indicates you are trying through surface area configuration. is that what you tried?
Try enabling the TCP/IP from the SQL Server configuration tools ( a restart is necessary).
Do you have Service Packs installed?

Opps sorry, i tried from Surface are configuration only.
And also i tried in configuration tools also but the status is not changing when i am enabling.
Can i reinstall the Tools part without disturbing database engine, this will
affect the existing sql server or give me suggestion's if i need to take any steps before i go through with this.
Please look into the following link, can you let me know whether this will help my issue or not.
