i have registered remote sql server on my machine ,but some time it is so slow and i dont have a terminal access, can i watch cpu usage of that server through my em ,plz suggest what other things i can not watch through my em which is related my db server so that i can demand for terminal access(suggest something which is not possible through em and for that a DBA should have access to that remote physical server)

Hi,
As a DBA I believe you should be able to remote all servers.
One valid reason for this is that if the CPU is maxing out on a server it may be due to non SQLServer applications grabbing the processor on the server. You need to be able to use Task Manager on the server to see what other processes are running.
Hope this helps.

I've been a SQL Server DBA since version 1.1, and it is not possible to be an effective DBA without local admin rights on the SQL Server and full console access.
