Remote logins - error 18456

    After trying to set up linked servers, using Windows Authentication, and failing, I deleted the linked server. In addition I appear to have accepted the deletion of remote logins for the server I was trying to link to.
     
    This has now stopped at least one scheduled job with the following error in the log: -
     
    Error:  -2147217843 (80040E4D); Provider Error:  18456 (4818)
     
       Error string:  Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'.
     
       Error source:  Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
     
       Help file: 
     
       Help context:  0
     
    I am assuming that the remote login deletion is the cause. How do I set up the remote logins?

    Hi,

     i get a similar error, but mine is to do with replication..i am led to believe that it may be permissions related?...not sure if this will help you though, i havent worked with linked servers..
