  • If the SQL Server you are trying to register is not using the default port of 1433, you will need to setup a system dsn pointing to the correct port.

  • What account is the local server registered with? LocalSystem? It does not have rights to register any non-local server. If a domain user account, does it have access/permission to the remote server?

A little bit of this and a little byte of that can cause bloatware.

  • Hi Dharmendra ,

    Hi All,

What exactly are trying ? As you said that you have SQL Server called "RNOOEMSITSQLA02" and tried to "register" another SQL Server !. You mean, you tried install another "SQL Instance" on same machine or you are question is belongs SQL Host server (box) or SQL Instance/engine. ?
