REGISTERING A CUSTOM DLL IN BIDS

    All,

    How do I register a task in Bids. In DTS it was simple select Task and Register. No problem. How is this done in BIDS??

    I would suggest you try with the remove duplicates sample, as described in BOL.

    There is a dll in there, which you have to make part of your GAC (by running GACUtil), whereafter you can add it to your palette.

    I went through the example, and after enduring some levels of frustration I got it to work, and I regularly use this component as part of my SSIS assembly these days.

    It will also give you good practice on getting tabledifference installed in a similar way.
