I don't know about registering all servers in the domain automatically, but once you do have them all registered on one machine, you can export the resistration information and import it on another. At least that would save you from doing work more than once...
Just right click on the 'database engine' container (or any group under it) and and select export...

Honestly I don't think there is a way. If you had them registered in SQL 2000 you can import them into SQL 2005 but otherwise I would just register them as you use them.
Not to mention if I were you I would try to use registration groups to organize them as you add them. I only have between 15-20 servers and I had to break them down into various categories just to find them easily. I can't imagine trying to deal with 300 servers in a list.

Another thing you could do is register a server or two in each group you are going to create and then export them. Then you can look at the XML it generates. Perhaps then you can somehow create a quick script to generate XML for the remaining servers once you see how it's supposed to look?

Here is a thought for you. If you have 2000 go into the registration wizard. The 2nd page has a list of "Available Servers" and you can register more than 1 at a time. Use shift & or ctrl to select more than 1 at a time. Once you have registered all of your servers then you can import them from 2000 to 2005. I didn't see a way to register more than 1 at a time in 2005.
The biggest problem I see here is that it probably won't find 2005 servers (I didn't have an easy way to test).
