Redo log shipping when secondary database not in recovery mode

    I just took over as dba, and I see the secondary database is not in recover mode, therefore the logshipping proccess is failing. Is there any way I can put it in recovery mode or should I just restart the whole log shipping proccess.

    Is the db online? If it is, there is no way to revert the db to logshipping as it has fully recovered. You will need to restart by restoring a recent backup using NORECOVERY or STANDBY.

    You can restore transaction logs to a db when it is in stand by or recovering.
