Redgate sql comparison tool: How to filter repeating columns to compare across

  • I am comparing two databases (mostly the tables). In the difference report, I see the matching columns as well. How to restrict the search (any global filter settings available?) so that the repeating columns (exist in both databases) do not appear in the report. That way the difference report will be more refined. I want to basically eliminate the from the comparison report in all the tables. Want to apply the logic for all tables.

Any guidance would be very useful.

    Thanks.

  • I don't think we can do that. You can absolutely filter out tables that have no differences. However, once a table has a difference, in order to show that table, we're showing, you know, the table. That would include columns that match. We're just not filtering at the column level to my knowledge.
