LiteSpeed for SQL Server does in fact include our Object Level Recovery technology which allows you to both restore DDL for objects and run SELECT statements against backup files to review and recover data. As another poster has already indicated, LiteSpeed also includes our Transaction Log Reader which can quickly undo transactions to recover lost objects and data (think DROP/TRUNCATE TABLE, INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE, ALTER PROC, etc.).

Those are considerable feature / product enhancements since I last used the product. Thanks for the info.

We were using LiteSpeed and I switched to SQL Backup, mainly because of the cost for the annual maintenance of LiteSpeed. If there are any significant differences, and I haven't noticed any, they didn't justify the cost.

Same with us. When we bought Litespeed, they were the only ones on the market. For subsequent backup solutions, we went with SQL Backup, for the same reason, costs...

Litespeed and SQLBackup are both comparable products nowadays. I personnally found SQLBackup better on compression than Litespeed on my test databases
