    Can I get some information about Ad hoc Reports from any one ...?

    Not sure exactly what you're looking for here but I'll give it a shot. In BI, ad hoc generally means something that cannot be addressed or generalized to a process, query, or report that you already have in place. In other words, something that must be custom built.

    I know in many environments this term is used interchangeably with "I know we don't have a self-serve, on-demand report that will give me what I need right now, but I still need this right now!"

    I suppose in terms of BI, ad hoc querying/reporting is in part what the data warehouse is really for. Although many still do ad hoc queries against the OLTP reporting server.
