Recursive CTE uses

  • Hi SSC,

I've been trying to wrap my head around recursive CTEs and the only example I can find is variants of the classic "who reports to whom" example[/url]. I understand the idea of the anchor portion and the recursive portion. I'd like to be able to add this technique to my repertoire, but I learn best by practicing these things, and the classic scenario seems a bit contrived for every day use. What sort of other clever examples do others have of using recursive CTEs?

    Thanks!
