Recreating SSISDB

  • Hi
Is it possible to drop and recreate SSISDB database. My collegue restored SSISDB to a new server and now all the packages are not running.I am thinking of dropping the DB ,recreate and then redeploy packages.

    Thanks

  • You can back up and restore an SSISDB, yes. Did you restore the key as well? You say the packages don't run, what errors did you get?

As SSISDB is protected by a master key, you cannot simply move it to another server, you have to move (or recreate) the master key too.

  • Thank you,the guy didn't know about all that  and he just restored without encrytption keys.I went back to the old server and run the - backup master key to file = ' E:\temp|Testkey' encryption by password = ........

I am getting an error ' cannot find the symmetric key 'master key',because it does not exist or you do not have permission.

Did you execute the query within the context of SSISDB?
