Hi,
I got surprised when i am checking table record count in enterprise manager by double clicking the table and select count(*) in query analyser
Both option not giving same count for a table, this table is having around 2 millian rows...
Plz help me regarding this...

run sp_updatestats. EM uses the sysindexes value to avoid counting every table when you query that info, however that info is not always absolutely up to date.

I never had that not working... Are you sure you ran it in the correct db?

It's not working for me either. My recordcount is off by one.

Do you have hyper-threading or multiple cpus on the server?
What version/sp do you have?

Possibly dumb question: Are users updating the table while you are switching between QA and EM, running queries, refreshing, etc?
