HI. We just had our 1st big packaged software application go live in production. I was wondering if someone could recommend what monitoring on sql server 2000 i should be doing on a daily basis or if i should be doing this on a daily basis. I was also asked how the response time was on sql server with the application calls and I wasn't sure how to track this. Can someone also point me in the right direction on this. Thank you for any help whatsoever.

I've written an e-Book published by NetImpress that discusses these types of questions. There is a discount for SQL Server Central users. The link to purchase is my signature.

Look at Brian's book. Basically, you need to be monitoring and baselining over time. Brian has ways to make this easy.
