  Check the full scans/sec counter.

  From what I know, read-ahead reads are usually done when a table or index is scanned, and the storage engine fetches pages before they are requested, on the assumption that they will be needed.

  What's the value of your Readahead Pages/Sec? How big is the DB? How active?

  The value of Readahead Pages/Sec is going above 2,000.

  There are 50 DBs of different size. Max 30 GB

  Not very active in the night. During non business hours also Readahead Pages/Sec goes above 2,000.
