Our network guys cloned a SQL server 2K sp3 server to a new DR server. In the process, something got hosed out and I couldn't start SQL. I reinstalled SQL 2K and was able to bring all the databases online. However, because I reinstalled it and overlaid all the binaries, I lost the sp3 install. Now when I try to install the service pack, it tells me it cannot becuase a higher version has been installed. I suspect something in the registry is causing it to hang up on me but so far, I haven't been able to put my finger on it. Any ideas?

Since apparently something funky happened in the cloning process, I'd personally do it again, or even get the CD's out and do a clean install from the ground up on the new server if the cloning is proved to not work.

Leave it no non-SQL admins to create more need for SQL admins ...
