I have a SSIS package but i wanted to change the name of the source file....If i go and manually change the name at the connection manager it doesn't save......So to change the name of the file do i have to manually edit the configuration file or is it okay to delete the configuration file and recreate the file
Thanks,
Pradeep

Either approach will work. It would probably be easier to manually edit the config file.

One more question i know the configuration file doesn't store the Username and Password information of the connection string but i guess if u select the option Encrypt sensitive data with password should save the password information so that i dont have to enter the connection string password information everytime i open the package but it seems it didn't save the password information even if i select the option....Did anyone have the same issue before???
Thanks in advance

You have to manually add the password to the file yourself. That's by design, not because of a problem.
