Hi People,
Trying to find some information about the account ##MS_AgentSigningCertificate##. The reason is that I can see it has access to the master DB and it seems like it has a blank password?
Could any guide me to some articles about this account and its use (except that it used for certificates) and if any know if this account should have a blank password default or is it protected by a self signed certificates key’s, so it can’t be used to compromise the SQL server?
Thanks in advance,
Derlei

Is it enabled? (check the status tab of the login properties)
I don't have that on my system, but the couple of ## logins I do have are disabled.

He he not really interested in if it's enabled or not 🙂 More interested in how it is used, for what its used and understand it *grins*
But yes it is enabled and the only really usefull information I've found sofar about the account is: "http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2514815&SiteID=1"
I've tried to make the post on the MS msdn forum also, just to see if there is any information about it. MSDN only have it mentioned once of twice without any meaningfull info.

This login is created automatically when you install sql 2005 and it is used to create certificates.
