I have a client that is using two stand-alone servers (not in a domain). One is an application server and the other a SQL Server. They are going to be using districuted transactions with their application. They haven't done the implementation yet, but I seem to recall an issue with authentication between the transaction coordinators on standalone servers. The last time I dealt with this a few years ago, I think I needed to login the MSDTC service on either machine with an account that had access to the other endpoint.
Can anyone confirm or deny this. Thanks.

I have definately come across this in Windows 2003, earlier versions I am not sure about, logic dictates that this would be the case however.
