I have a question about Alwayson and looking for a guidance here.
Lets say: I have a two node AG always on namely: sqlnode1 and sqlnode2
sqlnode1 is primary.
sqlnode2 is secondary.
Scenario 1: make node1 fail-over automatic and synchronization state as synchronized. secondly make node two as Async and fail-over mode Manual.
Scenario 2: Make node 1 fail over mode manual and synchronization state as Async. Secondly make node two as Async and fail-over mode as manual.
Now I understand what will be the impact on fail over and all, what I want to know is what is the difference between the two scenario if any.
Many Thanks,
B

For auto failover to be supported both nodes have to be set to synch

with both nodes set to asynch, failover will be a manual action and data loss may occur
