Query window

  • My query window disconnects by itself all the time when i am running long queries.

I create multiple temp tables once for abt 3 hrs and then select all the data from those tables as next step but suddenly i gets diconnected.

    what might be the reason.

    thanks

  • is there any clue why i get disconnectyed all of a sudden. and i get this error mesg

"A transport-level error has occurred when sending the request to the server"

  • That error message usually means the network's gone wobbly when we get it where I work

  • This happens every day to the developers , not sure why?

where the problem might be? is it related to sql server or network problem

  • Could be a badly configured switch that is creating a storm. It even could be one badly configured network card... This is basically a network issue.

I've seen this message before, with intermittent network outages.

  • what is the work around for this so the it never happens again.

  • If it is a network issue, there is no work around I am afraid. You will have to get the Techs or Network Admins to find out where the problem is and then fix it.

B****slap your network engineer, tell them not to let it happen again or there will be an employment outage.

Seriously though Mike, this kind of thing is demoralising to staff and costs the company money. You're the database guy, not the network guy, and he's compromising your ability to deliver. Escalate it tactfully but without pulling punches either.
