I guess, this question will also causes some 'trouble'. I haven't answered it yet, but I remember an article from SQL Server Mag some month ago titled 'The 64-bit question'.
...the most significant.. is a massive increase in addressable memory. ..It supports as much as 32TB of adressable memory and neraly unlimited amount of virtual memory running on Windows Server 2003....So far, Microsoft has tested...on systems that have as much as 256GB of RAM.
Hmm,...32TB is not an option on the answer. 256GB is not an option on the answer.
I'll go for 512GB and watch this thread!
Cheers,
Frank

Frank

I guessed the Answer, but only because I knew that SQL 2000 Enterprise used up to 64Gb and MS usually have to surpass the previous edition by expansion!
Anyway, is there anyone out there running SQL 2000 Enterprise on a Win 2003 Datacentre apart from Microsoft?
Can't be many....

I read this a few weeks ago. But here take alook at the comparison at the bottom. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/evaluation/overview/family.mspx And note the question did state Datacenter.

The part that impresses me is the 1,048,516 TB for database size. Is that really 1,000 petabytes?

I choked on this question by not paying attention to the version. Is there anyone out there actually running this configuration (besides MS)?

Only in my dreams. The price hasn't come down yet on the hardware to be reasonable for us.
