  Is there a way to publish a sql server 2008 R2 database to a sql server 2005 subsriber.

  I would like to do this as I am looking for a rollback plan for some of my VLDBS when upgrading for sql 2005 to 2008 R2.

  Yes, you can do even to SQL 2000 subscriber. 2008 is backward compatible for last 2 versions.

  this is a further question along the same lines..

  due to time phasing of upgrades, there will be a time gap in migrating all servers to SS2008 (on Windows Server 2008).

  So, for some time we will have :

  publisher in SS008 EE 64;

  distributor and subscriber in SS2005 EE 64.

  Have anybody done that and get it to work OK?
