Publication not available at subscriber end

    Hi

    I've created a publication (merge) . If I try to create a pull subscription on a laptop (running MSDE) it only allows me to see anonymous publications that have been created in the past. If I try to create the subscription from my PC (running MSDE) I can see all the publications. It seems that the laptop is not a trusted connection. I've added a login and given it sysadmin permission for server role. If I change the properties of the publication to allow anonymous subscribers It works fine but I don't want to do this.

    Any suggestions?

    Don't you need to register the laptop on the server as a known subscriber?

    I thought that was exactly the point of allowing or disallowing anonymous subscirptions

    Yes that's correct. I was trying to do it from the laptop end of things. I finally worked it out after a while.
