provider : Named pipes Provider, error : 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server

    Hi All,

    My Team was creating the subcriber for replication purpose . When I connected to the subcriber server , it gaves me a error :

    A network- related or instance-specific error occured while establishing a connection to sql server .

    The server was not found or was not accessible . Verify that the instance is correct and that sql server is configured

    to allow remote connections ( provider : Named pipes Provider, error : 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server )

    ( Microsoft SQL Server , Error : 53 )

    I have checked :

    - All of SQL services are running except SQL server Browser ( STOP)

    - In the publisher server ( it allows the remote connection )

    What I should with this ?

    Please kindly help

    thank you for your kind response

    I was just checking the sql agent in subcriber and it is STOP ( status : DISABLE ) , but in publisher it has a job to run agent but then it is failed continuosly

    Could it be the cause ?
