Procedure for Installing an Active/Passive Node on Second Instance - Clarification

  • 1. On my first instance, I have the following Domain groups: XXX\SQLCLUSTER Full-Text Search Service; XXX\SQLCLUSTER SQL Server Agent Service and XXX\SQLCLUSTER SQL Server Service.

    2. Currently, on my second instance, I have the following Domain groups: SQLCLUSTER2\SQLServer2005MSFTEUser$SQLCLUSTER2$SQLVSERVER2, SQLCLUSTER2\SQLServer2005MSSQLUser$SQLCLUSTER2$SQLVSERVER2 and SQLCLUSTER2\SQLServer2005SQLAgentUser$SQLCLUSTER2$SQLVSERVER2

    3. Once I’m finished with my install, I should copy and paste the Domain groups from the first instance; is this correct?

    Thanks,

    Ron

  • It looks like too much of your question may be contained in the post title, which truncates in the forum.

What exactly are you setting up here? Just mirroring two servers?

  • Actually, I'm setting up the second node to be Active/Passive; not mirrored. Just checking to see if need to copy the domain logins Full-Text Search, SQL Server Agent and SQL Serrver Service from my first instance to the second node when I finish the new cluster install on the second node.

    Thanks,

    Ron

  • I guess it depends on what you want that server to be able to do. It should have the same setup as the first server if it's meant to be a full failover.
