Hi All
I got a new machine which has got SQL RTM on it, i am trying to install SP2 for this 64 bit server, when installing i found out that there is an reporting server with the other instance name on it, how can i remove that reporting server from SQL and install SP2

I'm not sure I follow you completely.
It sounds like you have two instances of SQL Server on one computer. You are trying to upgrade one of the instances to SP 2. The other instance has Reporting Services on it, and you want to get rid of that. Is that correct?

Thanks for your post, exactly, when i see the screen for Authentication there is one instance name (say XX) for MSSQL and other instance name for reporting server ( say YY/ReportServer), the second one gives me an error stating it cant log into this instance of reporting server

In that case, you should be able to uninstall it from Windows Control Panel. You'll want to check around and make sure, first, that nobody is actually using it.

There is no such instance on control panel, so i cant unstall that instance, in this case what can i do to avoid that instance of report server being picked up

when you launch the installer (via cd or control panel) you get the option to modify an existsing instance. You select an instance then elect to uninstall components from that instance

I have just found out that he old instance has been configured with the old server, i changed that reporting server to point to new database, and then problem has been cleared.
