Problems with DFT task in SSIS

  • All,

I am facing issues while trying to set a Data flow task in SSIS. I have a variable which holds the query to be used for source SQL command. This variable, I am setting during runtime using a script Task. I have checked and verified that the variable is holding the query correctly. I wanted to use this and SSIS doesn't let me go through. when I select the variable in drop down for source in DFT task and try to click on ok, It says that "command text not set for command object"

I was wondering how one will set column mappings if he is using a SQL command from variable as source query.

Also, I want to know how to populate the column names for a text file destination. I used to do it very easily in DTS. As always, your help is extremely appreciated. :w00t:

And after all a very happy holiday season greetings to all of you..

    Merry Xmas...

    Feliz navidad.

    Thanks,

    Nikhil

  • You could enter a default value in the value column the the variables window.

This should allow you to select the variable and the default value will be over written when the package is run.
