Please help when I install SQL Server 2008R2 Report Server I get the following error below:
The following error has occurred: c: \ Program Files \ Microsoft SQL Server \ MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER \ Reporting Services \ ReportServer \ bin \ rsperfctr.ini
Click 'Retry' to retry the failed action, or click 'Cancel' to cancel this action and continue setup.

What credentials are you using to install reporting services? It seems to me that you are not allowed to add performance counters to the system.

I'm installing sql server reporting services 2008r2 as the system admin. When I do the same installation with sqll server 2008 it works perfectly fine. I am the system admin for the all the machines and this problem with SQL Server 2008R2 has been going on since last week. My platform is windows server 2008R2.

I have managed to solve this problem. I just did a new download of a new installation file. Make sure you use the right accounts when installing the report server. when u finish u will have more problems with server 2008r2, for example if you your instance name is sql2008r2 and the directory you are using is msqldb, sql server 2008r2 will put them as msqldb_sql2008r2 , remove the underscore to see the report as msqldbsql2008r2 , otherwise you will see a blank internet explorer page.
