Hello,
I know that for some of you this question it will sound stupid so I’m sorry, but is been a while that I’m trying to install sql server 2005 in my computer and when I finish the wizard installation the SQL doesn’t create the basic data bases.
I’m working with sql server 2000 and I’m trying to install this in order to start checking this and upgrade the SQL
Do I need to install a qa SQL only in windows 2003 ?

When you say basic databases, do you mean to say system databases. It will be under system databases folder under databases, if you are talking about test (sample) databases, its a seperate installation! u can download it from net also!

i mean system data base.
when i try to open the sQL 2005 after the installation i get a error during the connection, but i don't understend because I don't need to connect to any server.
i just want to install it in order to learn to use thi new version.

What is that error you are getting? You need to have a server where all these databases would be present! no? Are you trying to connect through SSMS (Sql Server Management Studio?)
