Hi
we have windows server 2012 r2 - sql server 2014
but we have some problems :
1- unstable clustering
2- unequal cpu load distribution between all cores
3- slow disk IO
then we decided transfer to Windows 2008 and sql server 2014
then
can I run HA - always on - on this version ?
Thank you

Hmmm, clustering under Windows 2012 R2 is more stable than it's ever been.

2- unequal cpu load distribution between all cores
Check your BIOS settings for CPU power mamangement settings, these are usually the culprit

3- slow disk IO
local disks or san based?

SQL Server 2014 supports alwayson availability groups, windows 2008 supports sql server 2014, so no problem here

Thanks Perry Whittle, Really Thanks . You are great for HA :
But there are some tips that I should say :
- All of our servers are on Virtual mode (ESX Version) - Main replicas And HA and all other servers. (some say that win 2012 R2 are not good with ESX Virtualization)
- We use SAN for servers storage
- Yes you right. Most probably , our clustering problem is because of Network problem . I add pictures from our Problem at the end.
- And Final Please Help me in simple language please. (I read your Complete text about Always on . But I could not catch this. It was more profesional than me.)
I have a very simple clustering .
we have 2 server that we need HA for them They are seperated.
server 1 and server 2
And I Have 1 HA server .
1- --------> In current way we create One cluster with 3 node (server 1 - server 2 and server HA). Is it right ?
-----------------------------> Or we should create 2 clustering that every one has 2 node (server 1 And HA) - (server 2 And HA)
2- ---------> Do we need Qurume in this simple mode or not ? I didnt catch witness and qurume content?
Please say me?
Thank you very match

as i said, Windows 2012 R2 actually has more stability than previous versions, check my stairway for more info why.
That error is almost certainly nothing to do with Windows, check with your VMWare admin, i'm 100% certain what you're seeing is costop and this will cause you cluster instability no matter what version of Windows you use.
What were the specs for the VMs that you were using?
how much ram assigned?
how many virtual cpus?
how many virtual network cards?
what was the virtual switch configuration?
how were the disks configured, RDMs or virtual disks?

Thankyou for Your reply :
What were the specs for the VMs that you were using? ESXi – version 6
how much ram assigned? 64
how many virtual cpus? 30
how many virtual network cards? 2 virtual network card
what was the virtual switch configuration? ???? I dont know . If possible ask in more detail
how were the disks configured, RDMs or virtual disks? Virtual disk

assigning this much resource there's an argument for making this server a physical box rather than a VM.
