Hello,
I am running Sql server 2000 sp3a on a windows2003 std. server.
I also use Veritas Backup Exec 9.1 sp1 and it uses the sql server to store its database. the system was running ok until now
But 4 days ago I installed a Hotfix for the Sql server:
SQL2000-KB810185-8.00.0859
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;821334
since then, Backup Exec services don't start. I can't start them.
The service "Backup Exec Device & Media Service" freezes starting.
Every time I try, the event viewer shows the error message:
Application with errors: pvlsvr.exe, version:
9.1.4691.15, module with error: dbutil.dll, version 9.1.4691.0, error address
0x00005940.
Can anybody help me?
I know this is a forum about SQL Sever and the soft that is giving problems is Veritas, but all started after the Hotfix installation.
Any idea on what to do or where I can find help would be appreciated
Thank you very much
Juan Carlos
