I am having a problem using the file transfer protocol task in SQL Server 2000.
I have set the task to copy a file from a box on our network. I have checked the overwrite box to remove the file if it already exists.
When I run the task the existing file is deleted and the task seems to be transfering the file.
However, when I go and look for the file it no longer exists.
Any ideas?

Hi msbolton,
Can you give us more details?
Are you have the rigth permissions to write and delete files on the network.
Are you using map drives?
The FTP tool in DTS is only for get files.

msbolton,
I don't have a solution for you, but I can give you a work around that seems to be doing the trick for us. We experienced the same issus that you are seeing, and we found that if you select a second file to download, the first file appears while the second file is the one that cannot be found. Not really a solution to the issue, but it works until one can be found.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
I have managed to solve the problem. By installing SP3 for SQL server the problem has stopped. I think that the actual fix is in an earlier SP but SP3 contains all previous fixes.
Hope that this might help out anyone else who is having the same problem
