Hi,
I did the installation of my SQL Srv 2005 under WinXP Professional and everything was really fine, today I was configuring the database mail and I don't know how happened, I can't use this service properly.
I'm receiving the following error message:
Date 11/28/2006 3:12:02 PM
Log Database Mail (Database Mail Log)
Log ID 47
Process ID 3644
Mail Item ID 19
Last Modified 11/28/2006 3:12:02 PM

Message
The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure. (Sending Mail using Account 3 (2006-11-28T15:12:02). Exception Message: Cannot send mails to mail server. (Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Unable to relay for xyz@abcde.com)
)
Does anybody has any idea how to solve this? I did it before and it worked... I can't remember what is missing here

At least in IIS, you will likely need to select the SMTP Service and modify it's properties to allow it to relay. If you're going through your company-wide mail server, you will need to allow that machine's IP Address relay permission.

Okay...
But where I can find the option to turn on the relay? I'm running the SQL Server 2005 Standar Edition in my Windows XP Professional with IIS, I could spend sometime using the IIS trying to find this option and I couldn't, any clue?
By the way, thanks for your reply!

Sounds to me like your email server is the one thats not letting the mail get sent. can you have your admin add the email address you are sending from to the relay whitelist?
