problem listening port no: 1433

    i have xp service pack 2 OS but i couldn't make the port no: 1433 make listening. This resulted in database connection error in sql. so what is the remedy to make the port no: 1433 listening....

    Take a look..

    What sql build you are on?

    Apply latest sevice pack sp4

    Did applying SP4 work?  If not check to see if you have a software based firewall turned on.
