CU2 is required for SharePoint 2010 and thus I want to install it on my production SQL Server 2008 Cluster. It installed fine on all development and testing instances, however none of them are clustered.
I'm currently on build 10.00.2531 and we run 64-bit, Enterprise Edition.
Halfway through the install, my E drive, which is where the instance is installed, just drops and then the installer comes back with a failure. The log says it cannot find E:\some_guid_where_the_installer_dropped_files.
Anyone out there have this problem?
I am tempted to shut down the passive node and try again. Perhaps the update involves restarting services which confuses the cluster administrator and makes it think it needs to initiate a failover.
I'd appreciate anyone's advice on this, thanks.

Disregard my above post. I figured this out. The solution, or perhaps more correctly, the correct way to install cumulative updates and service packs is to install on the passive node first, fail over the active node, and then install of the newly passive node.
