I want to process OLAP Cube using Analysis Manager (Microsoft SQL Server 2000) where the Data source in AS400. To connect to AS400 I used Client Access ODBC Driver (32-bit), but when I processed cube or even only a dimension, it is always running without progress... Last status is initiating transaction and never stop or error. But when I process the OLAP Cube for data in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 it's run successfully. Can anyone give a solution for this problem?

Hi
Is it possible for you to try another ODBC driver? What you can also try is put a trace on the odbc driver and see what it out puts, you do this on your odbc settings.

OK, I'll try to use another ODBD driver. Thanks for your reply.

Client Access also has an OLEDB driver, you might try that one. It has been a little while since I used it, but I remember one was faster, but one truncated query results greater than 12k.
Also, MS has AS/400 drivers as part of its Host Integration Server that work much faster/better than IBM's. (Remember, IBM really doesn't want you to extend to MS's platform, do they don't do a lot to optimize these drivers. Microsoft has an interest in making your Windows project better, so they do better on the driver.)

Hi,
there are also 3rd party drivers specific to the AS400 that do a better job and are easier to deploy than those big packages.
You might take a look at http://www.hitsw.com, if you like.
