Today I have received a really annoying issue considering Reporting Services 2008 (RS).
Our customer owns a couple of printers that are working fine with RS.
There is only one printer that gives an error 'error: printing mode' when I try to print some reports.
Reports that are based on a SSAS datasource are returning this error, reports on a SQL datsource not.
I am really out of options, so I would really appreciate your help!
Context:
Windows 2003 Server R2 Standard
SQL Server 2008 Enterprise
Sharepoint 2007 Enterprise with SSP

While I don't have a direct answer for you, perhaps I can point you in a direction that will get us all of the pertinent details that may help you...
I have a few question that may help you troubleshooting and provide us with valuable input.
1) Are the printers the same model? vendor?
2) are the print drivers the same?
3) are they setup to use the same resolution etc etc...
4) does the report contain any images or anything along that line which might cause issues
5) how are they being printed? using the print button on the report, or exported to PDF? If not try exporting to PDF and see if it works as a workaround
6) Do they have the same version of the .net framework? service packs etc?
7) Same windows patches?
8) Does it follow the user if they use another machine?
9) Does it occur for other users when logged into the machine with the problem printer?
10) is IE setup the same way on all of the affected machines (those that print correctly and those that do not?
11) are these printers connected directly to machines, or networked printers or whatnot? Make sure there is enough disk space on the c: drive of wherever this print job will spool.
Hopefully one of those will show some differences that you can try to address.
